Here are the current National stats as of 7/09/2018:

Number of children that have died from heatstroke in 2018: 21
Number of child heatstroke fatalities in 2017: 43
Average number of child heatstroke fatalities per year since 1998: 37
Total number of child heatstroke fatalities from 1998 – present: 764

Brighton Fire urges all parents and caregivers to do these three things:
• NEVER leave a child in a vehicle unattended.
• Make it a habit to look in the back seat EVERY time you exit the car.
• ALWAYS lock the car and put the keys out of reach.
